NEW YORK (AP) - Whites in breezy silk parachute pants and strapless tops opened the KaufmanFranco show at New York Fashion Week, but Hollywood gold brought it home.

The design duo Ken Kaufman and Isaac Franco, together at Valentino, Ungaro and Anne Klein before founding their own company, took the crowd Monday night on a peekaboo cut and broad color journey at the Lincoln Center tents.

Bright whites in sheers on a stark white catwalk became folds of subtle bone in dresses, followed by a bit of burlap and sand before full glitz in gold: a short-sleeve gown with a plunging neckline and covered in sequins, a mini-length version with a halter neck and a less embellished, long-sleeve body skimmer in a floral design.

Oh, and some dark black and fiery red in between, including a strapless black party dress with a barely there lace design up top and a loose, flowing halter-neck gown in the red _ with convenient pockets.

The two have dressed Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus, Halle Berry and Beyonce for red carpets. Wonder if they'd also need one of the new mesh-backed trenches or girly shorts in real life.
