CACHE COUNTY — A Layton man was severely injured in a one-car rollover Sunday near Hardware Ranch.

Michael Metcalf, 42, was driving south on Ant Flat Road at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his Toyota Tundra and was thrown from the truck, according to Cache County sheriff's Lt. Chad Jensen. Metcalf was unconscious and unresponsive when a medical helicopter transported him to the hospital, he said.

A passenger in the truck, 52-year-old David Singer, of Layton, was taken to the hospital with head lacerations and leg pain, Jensen said.

The crash remained under investigation. Additional information will be posted as it becomes available.
