APLINE — With rain on the way, the citizens of Alpine city are bracing for more flooding. Residents packed and distributed sandbags Saturday and Sunday in anticipation of more debris and flooding from storms.
Lone Peak Fire Department Battalion Chief Joseph McRae said he's been impressed with the way the citizens have come out to help.
"We've had a lot of help from the residents and a few church groups," McRae said. "Everyone is preparing for more flooding. There are a lot of sandbags in Alpine."
McRay said the city is equipped with a text messaging system that sends out notifications asking for help in times of disaster. These messages have been successful in gathering support and help in anticipation of more flooding.

The streets along Box Elder Drive and Moyle Drive were most affected by the floods. The storm was concentrated in Dry Creek Canyon and dropped about a half inch in 30 minutes, sending mud and debris down the canyon.
