(KSL News) West Valley City police are investigating the death of a 57-year-old woman.
Detectives spent the entire day Sunday processing evidence at the Scottsdale Apartments where the woman was found. But they're releasing few details about the investigation.
They did release her name, Damiana Castillo, and they say her death appears to be due to non-natural causes.
Lt. LaMonte Cox, with the West Valley City Police Department, said, "Her son found her in the apartment. There are some things that don't add up. So we're treating it kind of as a suspicious death, so they're investigating just like a homicide."
Nobody is in custody, and police are unaware of any previous trouble at the woman's apartment.
Detectives would like to know the last time anyone saw her or talked to her. Anyone who knows anything is asked to call West Valley City police.
