Earlier this month, Governor Gary Herbert led a trade mission to the United Kingdom to strengthen relationships abroad with companies that grow jobs here at home.

With Utah's strong ties with the U.K., the governor says it is essential we maintain current relationships and build new ones that open more doors in the substantial European market.

During the trade mission, the governor met with London and Partners, The official promotional organization for the city of London, where Olympic Officials reviewed the success of their recent games. They also met with leaders from Wells Fargo, Level39, Rio Tinto and other prominent corporations and capital investment groups.

The United Kingdom is the seventh largest economy in the world at 2-point-3 trillion dollars, and is Utah's largest market for exports, totaling more than 6-billion dollars in 2012.

Business relationships are built and strengthened through in-person meetings like this trade mission, so look for already strong Utah exports to the United Kingdom to rise.
