SALT LAKE CITY — Stansbury High School quarterback/linebacker Chase Christiansen confirmed via his Twitter account that he has committed to Utah State.

In the 2012 season, Christiansen threw for 527 yards, rushed for 1,149 and scored 23 touchdowns, leading the Stallions to a 9-2 record, including 6-0 in region play before losing to Dixie, who went on to win the State Championship in the 3A quarterfinals.

While he put up outstanding offensive numbers, Christiansen will most likely play linebacker for the Aggies. He finished 2012 with 65 tackles and one interception for a defense that allowed just 10.5 points per game and pitched four shutouts.
