BYU's season-opener gets a start time

BYU's season-opening game at Virginia was on Thursday given a kickoff time, with ESPN and the ACC announcing that the Cougars and Cavaliers will clash in Charlottesville on Saturday, August 31 at 1:30 p.m. MT, with the game televised on ESPNU. All BYU games are heard on KSL Newsradio 102.7 FM/1160 AM and BYU Radio (SiriusXM 143).

With today's news, BYU now has kickoff times set for five of its 12 regular season games, with two of them destined for ESPN Networks (Virginia, Boise State), one one NBC (Notre Dame) and two others the CBS Sports Network (Utah State, Nevada).

College football analyst Phil Steele on Thursday released his preseason All-Independent Team, and BYU was well represented, with 13 players occupying 14 spots between the 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams:
