PROVO — A missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints died last week after collapsing while jogging with his companion.

Elder Jeffrey Rogil Guerra Alfaro, 22, of Lidingo, Sweden, was jogging with his companion Thursday morning when he collapsed, according to Ruth Todd, spokeswoman for the LDS Church. Alfaro was treated at the scene and transferred to a local hospital, where he was found to have suffered a ruptured cerebral aneurysm.

Alfaro was placed on life support, where he later passed away with family members present.
