SALT LAKE CITY — A bicyclist was critically injured Monday night after being hit by a car at 500 South and 500 West.
The accident happened just after 9 p.m., and police said the cyclist was transported to the hospital in critical condition. The extent of injuries were unknown as of 10 p.m.
The driver of the vehicle involved remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators, police said.
Officers have shut down 500 West, and 500 South has been reduced to one lane as they investigate the scene. No word yet on when the intersection could reopen.
