Five Utah State football games to be televised by CBS Sports Network in 2013

Utah State football will have five games televised by CBS Sports Network during the 2013 season it was announced Friday by the Mountain West (MW). Overall, 21 games involving MW teams will be broadcast by CBS Sports Network this fall, including 13 conference games and eight non-conference games.

Utah State’s first game to be broadcast by CBS Sports Network will also be its first-ever Mountain West game as it plays at Air Force on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 1:30 p.m. (MT). This matchup will also be the first conference game of the season for the league.

Utah State’s other four games included in this package will all be at home as matchups against BYU (10/4), Boise State (10/12), Hawai’i (11/2) and Colorado State (11/23) will all be televised live by CBS Sports Network. USU’s game against the Cougars on Friday, Oct. 4 will kickoff at 6 p.m. (MT), while its game against the Broncos on Saturday, Oct. 12 is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. (MT). USU’s game against the Warriors on Saturday, Nov. 2 will kickoff at 2 p.m. (MT) and its game against the Rams will begin at 1:30 p.m. (MT).

Along with its five games to be televised on CBS Sports Network, Utah State’s game at San Jose State on Friday, Sept. 27 will be televised on ESPN at 7 p.m. (MT).

CBS Sports Network is the Mountain West’s primary rights holder and today’s announcement previews the eighth season of MW football on the network. CBS Sports Network is joined this season by ESPN as the second national television partner under a new agreement reached last month. Between the networks, 44 football games will be televised this year on their various platforms. Earlier this week, the initial slate of ESPN telecasts was released. Additional games on CBS Sports Network and the ESPN networks will be announced at a later date, along with information regarding the second- and third-tier telecast plans.

CBS Sports Network, is the 24-hour destination of CBS Sports and is in 48 million homes and available to 100 million homes nationwide. The network televises 350 live games and over 2,200 hours of original programming every year including live college football and college basketball. CBS Sports Network can be found on Comcast Ch. 269/753 HD in Cache Valley, as well as on DirecTV (Ch. 613) and the DISH Network (Ch. 158).

Beginning in the fall of 2013, MW football membership will include Air Force, Boise State, Colorado State, New Mexico, Utah State and Wyoming in the Mountain Division and Fresno State, Hawai‘i, Nevada, San Diego State, San Jose State and UNLV in the West Division.

Utah State will open the 2013 season on Thursday, Aug. 29 at Utah and its first home game of the 2013 campaign will be on Saturday, Sept. 14 against Weber State.
