Lance Bandley reportingFor one graduate at the University of Utah, today's ceremony ends a long road that started years ago in the troubled Sudan.
From civil war to the classrooms of the University of Utah, it's been a long and difficult path to graduation for Augustino Mayai of Sudan.
Augustino Mayai: "I would say one of the ways of becoming a better person is actually rehabilitating myself by educating myself."
Mayai says he left Sudan at age 7 and walked all the way to Kenya. He came to Utah 5 years ago and started his studies and today will pick up a degree in sociology. When he returns home this summer he'll be just one of a few with a degree.
Augustino Mayai: "Number four, number three...in that area. So it means so much to my people, particularly in the family."
Mayai hopes to use his studies to help those back in Sudan.
