SALT LAKE CITY — Two people were treated at a local hospital after being stabbed during an argument early Saturday morning. Police say one man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
At about 1:48 a.m., an officer was in the downtown area near 75 W. 200 South when witnesses flagged him down and reported a fight and stabbing outside a nearby club, police said.
The officer made contact with the alleged assaulter, Brandon Pena, 26, and discovered he had a knife.
While officers were investigating, two individuals showed up at a local hospital seeking treatment for stab wounds. Those individuals told police they had been stabbed by Pena.
The wounds were not life-threatening, and the victims were coherent and able to talk with police.
Pena was arrested and booked for investigation of two counts of aggravated assault, a second-degree felony; as well as eight other misdemeanor charges, ranging from possession of drug paraphernalia to reckless driving.
