Syracuse, the #4 seed, knocks off Hunter, the #1 seed, 53-36 to advance to the 5A quarterfinals.

Syracuse had a comfortable lead for most of the game and pulled away with a dominant 17-5 fourth quarter.

Syracuse's Diante Mitchell was the game's leading scorer making 15 of 18 free-throws and had five of the team's eight steals.

The only other player to score in double figures for the Titans was Daulton Whatcott with 13. Whatcott also was the team's leading rebounder with 8 in just 20 minutes.

Syracuse was aggressive taking the ball to the hoop and were rewarded with 29 free-throws, they hit 23 (79%). Hunter shot just eight free-throws, hitting half.

Hunter was the region 2 champion and their senior forward Brandon Davies' 17 points made him the only double-digit scorer for the Wolverines.

Syracuse will next play on Wednesday, Feb. 27th at 5:50 p.m. and will face the winner of American Fork and Jordan.
