(Ogden) — Jake Miles made two free throws with 2.9 seconds left as No. 1 Morgan defeated Wasatch 52-50 in the 3A semifinals.

Miles, the leading scorer in 3A, overcame a slow start to score 20 points and rally the Trojans from a 4-point halftime deficit.

Wasatch was led by Jeff Murdock with 10 points and Jake Dow and Cooper Ballstaedt both made big shots in the game and finished with 9 points. Dow's layup with 1:42 remaining tied the game at 50 with 1:42 left in the game.

Morgan will now face Region 11 rival Bear River in the 3A state championship Saturday at 7:30 pm.

Morgan has not won a state championship since 1974 when Ron Abegglen was the head coach.
