SANTA MONICA, Calif., May 1, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- MTV Movie Award nominee Jessica Alba Monday was announced as host of the 2006 gala at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, Calif.
The 2006 MTV Movie Awards will filmed June 3 and broadcast on the music network June 8.
Alba is nominated in the categories of Best Hero and Best On-Screen Team for "Fantastic Four" and Sexiest Performance for her role in "Sin City," MTV said in a news release.
"The MTV Movie Awards is like a three-ring circus and I'm thrilled they asked me to be this year's ringmaster," Alba said n a statement.
Alba had a busy 2006, starring in "Sin City," "Fantastic Four" and "Into the Blue."
The MTV Movie Awards are decided by movie fans. Votes are being accepted through May 19.
