HOLLYWOOD -- Paramount Home Entertainment and movie director J.J. Abrams hope a Twitter treasure hunt will get people excited about the Blu-Ray release of "Super 8."

The film will land in stores on November 22, and Paramount has hidden Blu-ray/DVD Combo Packs signed by J.J. Abrams in 20 cities across the U.S. and began offering clues to the locations Wednesday via the film's @Super8Movie Twitter account and Super8Tweet.com. Each day, the clues will get more specific until all of the combo packs are found.

"Super 8" follows a group of teenage friends who witness a train crash that unleashes something otherworldly into their small town. The film is a throwback to Steven Spielberg's early works and stars a cast of talented young actors including Riley Griffiths, a home-town boy from Cedar City.

Those who find the combo packs will also be entered into a contest to attend a premier of the Abrams-produced film "Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol."

"We are all so grateful for the reception Super 8 received, and wanted to give fans of the movie a little real life adventure," said Abrams. "There are some pretty cool prizes awaiting the winners of Hide and Tweet and we hope people have fun playing."

Fans can use the Super8Tweet.com microsite to piece together tweeted clues about where to find the combo packs. Anyone who finds the pack in Salt Lake City can post photos on Twitter using the hashtag #Super8Movie.
