(KSL News) -- Wouldn't it be great to make more money at work?
There are two ways to do it. Get a promotion or get a raise.
Getting one of these two could be as easy as looking at yourself in a whole new light.
Pamela Holland literally helped write the book on how to succeed at work. She says angling for a promotion or raise starts with seeing yourself as a product.
Pamela Holland, Brody Communications: "Just as the company provides a product and service, you as an employee are a product and service to that organization. And increasing that value is knowing what that product needs to do to help that company meet its goals and objectives."
In terms of promotion, you want to align your goals with the company's. Next, make a name for yourself. Raise your hand a bit more.. offer to serve on other committees. When it comes to asking for a raise, do your homework. Research what others in your position are making and find out how you'll be evaluated.
