CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) -- A ten-year-old Cedar City boy accused of starting two fires now faces arson charges.
Police say the boy confessed to setting two vehicles on fire outside an apartment complex by using a cigarette lighter he took from his mother.
Police say last Saturday a boy reported a car on fire. Officers responded and put out the fire, which started on the floorboards.
Hours later, fire crews responded to another fire at the apartments. This time, authorities say one of the seats of a tow truck was set on fire.
Police later learned the boy was responsible for the fires. He said he started them to get some attention. The boy was cited with two counts of arson and then released to his mother.
