SOAPSTONE, Wasatch County — Crews have located a snowmobiler who went missing Thursday in the Wasatch National Forest.
The snowmobiler was found safe at about 6:30 p.m., according to the Wasatch County Sheriff's Office. The 61-year-old's snowmobile had gotten stuck hours earlier, according to the office.
The sheriff's office had deployed two "hasty search teams" — six-member teams on snowmobiles — in the Soapstone area of Wasatch County, just east of Kamas.
The man had been separated from the two people he was with Thursday afternoon. He was reportedly familiar with the area and has gone snowmobiling before.
There's not enough to believe there's any problem with the individual right now.

"There's not enough to believe there's any problem with the individual right now," Lt. Jeff Winterton with the Wasatch County Sheriff's Office said at the time. The crews were deployed because "we don't know why he's been separated, which is always a concern, but he has no known medical conditions."
Winterton said if the search had continued into the night, it was possible the office would deploy air support with flare systems. At the time, the sheriff's office was unaware of whether the man had supplies with him.
"We would hope they do," he said. "That's snowmobiling 101."
