Utah's House and Senate are back in session as legislators head back to work today.
The budget will be a big topic this year considering Congress hasn't addressed the fiscal cliff or debt ceiling -- only extended it.
Another hot topic: Education funding. When it comes to education, Utah's per-pupil funding is the lowest in the country. And a new report ranks Utah 38th in the country when it comes to education overall -- and that's actually better than we did last year, still in the bottom half.
House Speaker Becky Lockhart says she's a champion of education but will the Utah Legislature back the increase in education funding Governor Herbert outlined in his budget.
