Dr. Dawn Gatherum of the Botany Department at Weber State University gives us some tips on soil, soil types and textures. The USU extension contains information on almost any subject on gardening and soils that you would need, including composting. - In order to determine your soil type - Loam, Clayey loam, sandy loam and etc. - Google "Soil triangle chart" or see image below.
