SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) - Tyler Haws scored 24 points on 10-of-14 shooting Saturday as BYU took control in the second half to rout Santa Clara 82-64 and remain unbeaten in conference play.

Brock Zylstra added 15 points for the Cougars (14-4, 4-0 West Coast), who got 13 apiece from Brandon Davies and Matt Carlino. BYU shot 54 percent from the field, including 6 of 12 from 3-point range, and improved to 18-5 all-time against Santa Clara.

Kevin Foster had 22 points for the Broncos (12-6, 1-3), and Marc Trasolini added 17 points and 14 rebounds. Evan Roquemore dished out eight assists but was 1 of 10 from the field and scored three points.

Santa Clara stayed within striking distance for most of the game, tying it at 50 on Foster's free throw with 13:37 to play. But BYU responded with an 18-0 run, capped by Carlino's layup with 7:01 left, and wasn't threatened again.
