SANDY – Following Wednesday morning’s announcement of the RSL 2013 MLS regular season schedule, RSL fans took to Twitter to give their two cents.

Many RSL fans had something to say about the number of RSL matches that will be nationally televised this season. Out of the Salt Lake clubs 34 MLS regular season matches, only three of them, one of them at home, will be televised on NBC Sports.

Shortly after the schedule was released, Twitter user @wheatie_87 tweeted, “Surprised the #MLS schedule came out on time. Disappointed, but not surprised that #RSL only gets three “nationally televised” matches.”

Another Twitter user who used 140 characters to express his frustrations regarding the nationally televised matches was @SLTID_Jake who tweeted, “Not shocked that #RSL got shafted on national broadcast matches again. Just disappointed. Really disappointed. #MLS #RSLTID.”

Despite the disappointment by many RSL fans about the nationally televised matches, the excitement for the upcoming season was most definitely made known with a flood of tweets throughout the day.

Twitter user @missniki435 tweeted out her excitement on being a first-time RSL season ticket holder for the 2013 season. “The schedule is out! The schedule is out! The schedule is out! #RSL #cantwait #1stTimeSTH2013 #MLS.”

RSL fan and Twitter user @rsljenknee tweeted, “#RSL schedule is here! Life is complete … let the vacation plans begin.”

Another change RSL fans will see to the schedule this season is some later start times in the heat of the summer months. The later start times will begin in July and run through August for the Salt Lake club's home matches. The June and August home matches will not begin until 7:30 p.m. while the two July home matches are set for 8 p.m.

Twitter user @derrickSLC was happy to see the later start times and tweeted, “Later #RSL start times begin in the hot summer months, when the sun and heat falls on the north and east-side fans. Props to the FO!”

As RSL fans learned that they would not be able to see former RSL defender Jamison Olave and forward Fabian Espindola play inside Rio Tinto Stadium this season, the tweets continued.

Twitter user @SoccerManCR7 simply tweeted, “I’m going to miss Olave.”
