KAYSVILLE — Students and teachers at Fairfield Junior High School are mourning the loss of a basketball coach who died after collapsing suddenly at a girls basketball game Monday.

David Milius, assistant coach of the Fairfield Junior High girls basketball team, collapsed just before halftime in a game against Sunset Junior High School, a statement from the Davis School District said. He was taken to a hospital but died a short time later.

The cause of Milius' death was unknown Tuesday evening.

In addition to his coaching duties, Milius also worked as a part-time special education teacher at Northridge High School.

Counselors have been called to the schools to help any students or other teachers.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
