SAN DIEGO — They may have fallen for each other, but one San Diego couple certainly didn't plan on falling from the sky at their wedding.
Kerin and Jonathan Narcisse decided to take their vows aboard a hot air balloon. Just a few moments after those vows were exchanged, the balloon was forced to make a crash landing in someone's backyard due to suddenly high winds.
Ten of the couple's guests were aboard the balloon at the time, plus the balloon's operator. One person suffered a minor back injury.
The balloon itself ended up wrapped around a tree and partially covering the home.
The incident was especially interesting for the couple because of the groom's intense fear of heights. Despite that fear, the bride had a plan in mind for the wedding.
"I told him if I ever got married again I had to get married in a hot air balloon" Kerin Narcisse told a local TV station.
The groom said he agreed to the high-flying ceremony as a testament to his love for the bride.
The couple was not injured in the incident.
"Fortunately we didn't end our marriage the day we began it," Jonathan Narcisse said.
