This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
After volunteering for a local charity, Maxine Turner of Cuisine Unlimited found her true passion in creating beautiful food and events. That was over 30 years ago. At the time, the catering business was considered an "apron" business for women, but Maxine has evolved this company to a staff of 100 employees working with Utah's top businesses.
It hasn't been without sacrifice for Maxine and her husband and business partner, Marv Turner. For the first five years of Cuisine Unlimited, Maxine did not get a paycheck, putting every dime back into the operation. Ten years after founding the company, in 1995, Marv joined Maxine and now their sons, Aaron and Jeff, are working in this impressive operation. They attribute their success to strong family support and the "best in the business" staff.
Cuisine Unlimited believes that business doesn't define them; instead, they define the business and community they serve. This extraordinary catering company has been front and center with the Olympics since Atlanta in 1996. They served more than 350,000 meals at the 2002 Winter Olympics alone. Through their industry connections and partnerships, the events they create get rave reviews from impressive organizations like "Touched by and Angel," the Lincoln Center in New York City and the U.S. Open Golf Tournament.
The Cuisine Unlimited team tracks trends in foods to be sure they're maximizing nutrition and buys only the best meats, fish and vegetables to continue their reputation as the best in class. For example, they have contacts for the best trout farms or they'll stop ordering a certain product because their "expected quality" is not being met.
For Zions Bank, I'm Chris Redgrave, speaking on business.
