(KSL News) -- Police uncovered a motive in the murder of a West Haven man.

They say Warren Fellows discovered his wife was having an affair, so he shot her lover, Art Backus.

Fellows confronted Backus in his driveway in February. While Backus was trying to call for help, Fellows shot him dead, then took off with his wallet.

He's charged with murder, aggravated robbery and aggravated assault.

Fellows has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.
