This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

Bryant Saville (seh-ville) started into the furniture business as a teenager. His mom worked for a major furniture company in Salt Lake City, and he got a job there as well. He was so talented he started making furniture on the side. Years later he's still making furniture, now through his business Saville Furniture and Upholstery in St. George.

This operation grew into a partnership between Bryant, his wife, Claudine, and their son, Jeremie. They grew Saville Furniture and Upholstery from a 500 square foot space to a 6,800 square foot warehouse with just under 10 employees. Word of their operation continues to spread; their coverage area extends from St. George all over Utah and into several neighboring states as well.

During a recent visit, one customer had brought furniture all the way from Washington state for Saville Furniture and Upholstery. These were beautiful antique pieces just in need of a facelift. Bryant says the quality of furniture speaks for itself. When you buy the furniture as a piece of art, like what they're offering, it can last for centuries if you take care of it. Sometimes people don't realize the difference, but it's significant.

At Saville Furniture and Upholstery, Bryant and Claudine have hundreds of fabric samples for their clients to choose from. You really have to go to their show room to see it for yourself. The collection of fabrics is amazing. They've done a lot of work for Ethan and Allen as well as 20 different decorators in St. George. They have a dedicated customer base.

Even though Bryant and Claudine lost their beloved son, Jeremie, to cancer, they continue the business in his honor. They love what they do at Saville Furniture and Upholstery, and it shows. They're a great example of why Utah secured the No. 1 spot on the Pollina Top 10 this year — the first state west of the Mississippi to do so.
