This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

Ray and Melzie Ganowsky were a successful working couple raising their family when they realized something important. The only time they were spending together was in the evenings when they got home from work, were tired and needed to take care of the kids.

The first product they invented for RAM Company was an automatic choke for Kohler. They bought a lathe machine and operated it in the garage. Ray's father, a machinist, came down from Montana to help them while they were trying to find a machinist in town. While Ray and his father worked on cutting the parts, Melzie and the kids would put them together. About 120,000 automatic chokes later they decided it was time to find a bigger space.

At that time there were no shipping places in town. So, they made arrangements for an order to be shipped from St. George to Cincinnati, except they missed getting the order on the flight. Their next option was a flight leaving from Las Vegas, so they drove straight there only to just miss that flight. Their last chance was a 6 a.m. flight from Los Angeles, so they drove all night and made it just in time to deliver as promised.

This is the dedication Ray and Melzie have always brought to RAM Company and why they have 1,600 part numbers. Because of their focus on aviation, they support jets like the F-35, F-22 and F-18. Not to mention a part on the space station. That's part of the reason their company has grown to 170 employees with products they now export all over the world, contributing to Utah's impressive export totals. With RAM Company's main focus in commercial aviation, they have mastered their position in their industry.

For Zions Bank, I'm Chris Redgrave, speaking on business.
