This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

There's almost nothing better you can do for your local economy than shop at local businesses. A new study Local First Utah released shows that locally-owned retailers return 52 percent of their revenues to the local economy. In contrast, national chain retailers return just 14 percent. This means every dollar spent at a locally-owned independent business returns almost four times more to the local economy than a dollar spent at a national chain retailer.

These are all reasons why Brenan Gale and Preston Judd decided it made sense to create an Internet marketing company dedicated to promoting local businesses. They launched Be Locally three years ago, and the company has been steadily growing ever since.

Their primary service is search engine optimization. This is a huge market in high demand right now. They've found plenty of people are pulling back on traditional media and looking to other forms of media for their outreach. So, Be Locally supports their clients' new media needs by offering services that include website design and development; social media marketing and web page optimization.

Be Locally focuses on helping clients reach the local market. This means creating the right environment so your company page will come up in the moment of truth when a potential client is searching for a business nearby that fits their needs. They operate on a non-contract basis so the service arrangement is done month-to-month. This means the team has to be on top of their game and serve clients to the best of their ability. It's also designed so clients can focus on what they do best and let Be Locally take care of new media needs.

For Zions Bank, I'm Chris Redgrave, speaking on business.
