After a decisive victory over Georgia Tech two weekends ago, 41-17, BYU now hosts a struggling 1-7 Idaho team that swtiched coaches before its game last weekend against San Jose State. Interim head coach Jason Gesser suffered his first loss as head coach vs. San Jose State, 42-13.

BYU's game vs. Idaho will begin Saturday night at 8:15 p.m. MT inside LaVell Edwards Stadium.

Coach Gesser didn't have much to say about BYU other than what most already know: BYU has a great defense, and it's going to be a big challenge challenge for his team to overcome. Here are a couple notes from the press conference Gesser held earlier this week:

On the challenge of facing BYU:

"We have to stay persistent. You see what their strengths are, what their weaknesses are. BYU's defense and their team right now are playing with confidence. They have a couple of big, key guys that are top 10 NFL prospects in the draft. They have a couple of guys that are standouts. And everybody else, they're guys but they have a confidence. They have a passion. They come out there and they play hard every single play. They're flying around and they hit you in the mouth every single play, and if we don't match that or overcome that, we're going to be in for a long night.

"They're a very good program and a very good team with a couple of key, really good players."

On playing a cold game away from home:

"We haven't played a cold game all year long. This is going to be our first cold game. Now we're going to have low temperatures so hits feel different in the cold. Trust me, I know. The crowd is going to be loud so we have to have the right mindset."
