Man falls through skylight, dies

SALT LAKE CITY — A man working on a warehouse roof was killed after he fell 30 feet.

According to the Salt Lake City Fire Department, the incident happened around 7:39 a.m. Thursday. Firefighters received report that a 51-year-old man, who had been repairing a warehouse roof at 4521 West 1980 South with a group of construction workers, had fallen through a skylight. He fell about 30 feet.

The man had died from his injuries by the time the fire department arrived.

Salt Lake Fire Department spokesman Jasen Asay said it was not immediately known what caused the man to fall.

The man's name was not immediately released pending notification of family members.
