@utahathletics: Cal strikes first with a 49-yard field goal. Cal leads Utes 3-0 with 12:49 left in 1st quarter. #utes #utesvscal

Well that was fast. Utah was hosting California Saturday night in its fifth conference game of the season. Utah entered the game on a four-game losing streak.

@rellaaacakes: 100 yard touchdown yaaaaow! #utes

That was fast too. The Utes answered back with a 100-yard kickoff return by Reggie Dunn. On California's next possession, the defense stepped it up and forced a fumble while Reggie Topps picked it up and returned it for a touchdown.

@jeffbevan: It's Reggie night at the RES. First Reggie Dunn, now Reggie Topps... Loving it!! #utes #utahvscal

@cdrechsel: Where has this team been all year. Hopefully we play all 4 quarters this week. #Utah #Utes #fumblefor6

@dillyman25: Hey Reggie, your the Topps! #utes

The fans at Rice-Eccles Stadium, although ecstatic about the score at that point (14-3), were still waiting for some offensive scoring.

@tylerdjones: Utah will win as long as we keep scoring with our defense and special teams. Offense still flat. #utahvscal #utes

@TheUFanCast: #Utah #Utes defense looking strong early, but offense needs to get off the Schneid. Offense MUST score. If they do, could be a blow out.

They didn't need to wait long as Utah scored two rushing touchdowns in the second quarter.

@atownmania: Touchdown #Utes - and an OFFENSIVE touchdown, nonetheless. Incredible. Looks like we actually might win a game. #GoUtes

@toddgbarrow: About time Utah runs the bull in a goal line package up the gut on 1st and goal. Got so sick of Brian Johnson getting cute. #UTES

@utahathletics: Travis Wilson runs in for a keeper. Utes take 28-6 lead with 0:22 in half. #utes #utesvscal

The fans were loving it. They were also wishing this outburst came sooner in the season.

@JD10UT: Can we have a season restart please? I want to watch THIS team play our first 7 games. #UTES

@MollyAnn88: Hallelujah the Utes are winning!!!! #utes #UteFanFaithful #UteNation

The second half was much of the same on offense as Utah continued to run it down the field. Unfortunately, on a Kelvin York run, Utah lost a major aspect of its offense.

@TheUFanCast: @kelvinyork rumbling between the tackles. #Utes chewing up the clock. Uh-oh... York down.

John White IV took the helm like he was used to last year and scored a couple of touchdowns of his own. But the nail in the coffin came at the start of the fourth quarter when for the second time in the game (and first time in school history) Dunn returned another kickoff 100 yards for another touchdown.

@atownmania: All hail! Reggie Dunn to the house for his second kickoff return of the night!! Incredible! #Utes #GoUtes

@utahathletics: He does it again! REGGIE DUNN returns kickoff 100 yards for a TD! That's 2 in this game. 1st time in school history. #utes #utesvscal

@utahmom613: This #Utes team is amazing tonight!! Where have they been all season?!?!? #UTAHvsCAL

A the end of the day, California scored 21 points in the second half, losing to Utah 49-27. Although it was a win, there are still things to work on, like finishing games.

@JustInhaleSport: It might be garbage time, but #Utes giving up too many points late. Need to.#FinishStrong, a lot more season left

@atownmania: #Utes win. I can sleep well tonight.

Utah will host Washington State next Saturday afternoon and will try to continue to ride this offensive (and defensive and special teams) wave of success into Rice-Eccles Stadium.
