Motorcycle accident causes I-15 closure near St. George

ST. GEORGE — A man and woman were critically injured after hitting a median while riding their motorcycle. The accident lead to closures on southbound I-15.

The motorcycle veered off the freeway, and rolled into the median. Southbound I-15 was closed for about an hour to allow a medical helicopter to land at the scene.

The female victim was airlifted to a Las Vegas hospital. She was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The male victim was also not wearing a helmet, and was transported to a St. George hospital.

Investigation into what caused the accident is underway. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
