SANDY — A would-be bank robber was arrested Friday after a former police officer and bank customer kept him from fleeing the scene.
Glen Jensen, 54, was arrested after an ex-police officer who was legally armed was given the man's description by the bank teller. The ex-police officer immediately went out into the parking lot and held Jensen at gunpoint until officers arrived, according a news release from the Sandy Police Department.
Jensen entered TransWest Credit Union at 10692 S. State around 4 p.m. and passed a note to the teller asking for money. He then left the credit union with an undisclosed amount of cash but didn't get far.
Jensen was arrested within 75 yards of the credit union. He has been booked into the Salt Lake County Jail.
