(KSL News) -- Reseachers say they've identified a gene linked to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
The illness is characterized by debilitating fatigue, memory problems and unexplained pain.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention tested patients with the syndrome and found the same genetic differences among the patients. Those differences seem to affect the patients' abilty to adapt to changes like illness, stress and trauma.
Reseachers say the biological basis will help doctors diagnose and treat the disease.
