(KSL News) Homicide charges against a Draper man have been dropped.
A judge ruled there was no evidence tying Jasen Calacino to the overdose death of an 18-year-old woman.
Amelia Sorich injected a deadly mixture of heroin and cocaine -- known as a speedball -- last June. Her body was dumped in the foothills above Bountiful.
Her best friend, Macall Peterson, admitted she gave Sorich the drugs and talked Calacino out of calling 911 when Sorich passed out.
Calacino is ordered to stand trial on desecration of a human body and obstructing justice.
Peterson pleaded guilty to negligent homicide and desecration of a human body.
