(KSL News) -- Spring break in St. George is over, and from the police standpoint, it wasn't a bad year.

Between five and ten thousand teens crowded St. George Boulevard for the annual "getaway", but police say it was relatively quiet.

Spring Break 2006, St. George

  • 13 teens booked
  • 19 curfew violations
  • 17 drug violations
  • 30 alcohol offenses
  • 9 tobacco offenses
  • 8 criminal trespassings
  • 1 case of evading police

St. George police booked only 13 people in the juvenile receiving center over the entire holiday weekend. Police reported only 19 curfew violations, 17 drug violations, 30 alcohol offenses, nine tobacco offenses, eight criminal trespassing and one case of a teen trying to evade police.

Authorities credit a major police crackdown on teen activities and perhaps the boulevard's massive reconstruction project for the low number of spring break arrests.
