SALT LAKE CITY — Harry Potter did for kids and reading what a Utah author and his new book are doing for teenagers and reading. Richard Paul Evans introduced his latest book in the Michael Vey series and it has received a lot of enthusiasm from the teenage crowd.

The book release was given a rock star welcome and became an event with kids posing for their own cover shot.

"Reading is like a portal to another world," said 13-year-old, Katelyn Barnard.

But teenagers weren't the only ones that got excited over the newest addition to the book series. Parents are connecting with their kids in excitement for the book as well.

As part of the KSL 'Read Today' program, we are happy to report on the events that bring families and reading together.
