LOGAN — A Tremonton man was killed in an ATV accident over the weekend.

The Cache County Sheriff's Office was called just before 9 p.m. Sunday to an accident on the road down from Logan Peak, according to a statement from the sheriff's office.

Cory Crump, 24, was reportedly driving too fast for conditions in a four-wheel Polaris ATV Razor and rolled while trying to negotiate a turn, said Cache County Sheriff's Lt. Brian Locke.

The vehicle rolled 200 to 300 feet down an embankment into a grove of trees. The passenger was able to hike back to the road to yell to others in their group for help.

Crump, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. A medical helicopter took the passenger to McKay-Dee Hospital with undisclosed injuries.

Alcohol was believed to have been a factor, Locke said. The investigation was continuing.
