FARMINGTON — A fire in the foothills above Farmington burned dangerously close to homes Thursday night.
Crews responded to reports of a fire in the mouth of Shepherd Canyon about 10 p.m. Thursday. Neighbors said canyon winds were blowing a brush fire down the foothills in the direction of homes. By 10:30 p.m., the fire was out.
Following a quick response, firefighters were able to get the fire contained by 10:30 p.m.
