SALT LAKE CITY — Vice President Joe Biden will make a fundraising stop in Utah next month, state Democratic Party Chairman Jim Dabakis said Monday.

Dabakis said the July 10 fundraiser for President Barack Obama's re-election campaign will be held at a private home in Park City. The vice president has no other events scheduled in the state.

"We would love to have him do something," Dabakis said. "But this is just the way politics are now. The pressure is on to raise so much money. We're thrilled to have the vice president here."

The visit comes a year after after first lady Michelle Obama spent less than two hours in the state, also to raise money for the president's re-election at a Park City home. About 250 people turned out to see her, paying at least $1,000 each.

The price for attending the vice president's fundraiser was not released. Presumptive GOP presidential nominee, Mitt Romney, charged $50,000 to those who attended a special dinner last week at a home in Bountiful.
