WEST JORDAN — Fire crews responded Monday to a warehouse fire at 5621 W Wells Park Road.

West Jordan Fire battalion chief Reed Scharman said the fire began around 7 p.m. and forced responders to take a defensive position due to poor visibility from smoke and multiple explosions that occurred as crews attempted to enter the warehouse.

He said no one was believed to be inside the warehouse at the time of the fire. It contained vehicles, welding equipment and propane tanks.

The fire stayed contained within the structure and was put out later Monday evening.
