SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department's website is back online — with a new look and new safeguards.

Hackers pushed their way into the site in January, prompting the necessary changes. Email information and crime tips were stolen from the site.

The new site has layers of added security, and it gives community members easy access to things like:

  • Finding a neighborhood community officer;
  • Filing an online police report;
  • Reviewing most wanted and cold case pages; and
  • Viewing crime maps;
