SANDY — Students at two elementary schools got a clear message that reading is important.
KSL visited Sandy and Midvalley Elementary to celebrate students' reading accomplishments. Both schools took part in the Read Today reading program.
Executives from Scholastic Book and Big O Tires help provide each school with $1,000 in books. Parents and school board leaders cheered on the students for their accomplishments.
"If these kids don't have access to books early, then they can't develop good reading habits," said Wil Iverson of Scholastic Book.
