CALGARY -- An avalanche Wednesday morning in Alberta took the life of a Utah woman and an English man.

Katie Aring, 32, of Salt Lake City, was one of two people killed in the avalanche, the other victim was Ryan Keene, 31, of London, England. Aring was with a heli-skiing group of four skiers and snowboarders and a guide in the Bonnington mountain range near Calgary.

Officials say that the group was waiting at a landing to be picked up by a helicopter area after a run when the avalanche was triggered.

Four people were buried, including Aring and Keene, and only one person reported minor injuries. The heli-ski operator, Snowwater Heli-Skiing had teams in the area and were able to recover all buried.
