SALT LAKE CITY — A viral prank went wrong for one Arkansas teen when a text she sent was received by an area cop.
The prank had recently been popularized on social media websites such as Twitter and Pinterest. Many of the posts read, "When I'm bored, I send a text to a random number saying, "I hid the body ... now what?'"
The problem for the 15-year-old arose when the random number she chose belonged to a local police detective. The Rogers, Ar. Police Department used an emergency phone trace and found the girl at home, where she said she had found the idea for the prank via Pinterest.
Police were not amused, saying the prank tied up department resources, but the girl was released with a warning after she and her father were questioned.
