HARRISVILLE — Authorities are searching for a missing teenager who was last seen leaving Weber High school on Thursday.
Harrisville Police Chief Max Jackson said late Friday that his department has shifted from a possible runaway to a missing persons case. Chelsea Ann Smith, 15, told her friends and sister that she was going to an activity as they were leaving school at 2:30 pm Thursday. Smith, who is diabetic, did not get on her usual bus and is believed to be without her medication.
"We'd like to err on the side of caution and put as many resources toward the situation as we possibly can," Jackson said.
Smith is described as five foot five inches tall, 150 lbs, with blond hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black coat with a fur collar, black pants and boots, grey striped shirt and carrying a brown and pink pack.
"We'd like to find her as soon as possible and get her reunited with her family," Jackson said.
