WEST VALLEY CITY - Dub Price had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds helping Alta defeat Davis 58-46 in the first round of the 5A state tournament.
The Hawks outrebounded Davis 36 to 28. They also knocked down seven threes while Davis struggled behind the arc making just 3 of 14 attempts.
Abel Porter led Davis with 15 points.
Alta advances to the quarterfinals where they will play Riverton Thursday at 2:30pm.
