WEST VALLEY CITY - Marcel Davis had 16 points and the American Fork Cavemen had no trouble beating West 63-40 in the first round of the 5A state tournament.

The Cavemen shot 67 percent from the field and three players scored in double figures.

West kept the game close early but a big 2nd quarter by Davis gave the Cavemen a comfortable lead. They continued their domination in the 3rd quarter outscoring West 18-9.

Zach Hunter wowed the crowd with two dunks in transition. Lennon Coley was the leading scorer for the Panthers with 10.

American Fork will play Brighton in Thursday's quarterfinals.
